Watching cartoon programs on Television will keep youngsters occupied when you want to work or just have some free time. Most parents, however, do not let their children watch television or play computer games for fear of them adapting unhealthy behavior. This should not be the case as watching TV and playing computer games are educational activities, and more so, entertains the kids.
Build a washing station
Kids love to play with water. Building a washing station outdoors is ideal for you and the kids especially when you need to put your attention elsewhere. Put water into basins and make them wash all their toys. You can also let them bathe in the water when the weather is favorable. The splashing and pouring of water make it fun for the kids and this takes all their attention away.
Make playdough
Giving your toddlers playdough to play with keeps them busy. It makes them creative and imaginative as they can make different shapes, numbers, and even letters with it. This also makes their hands strong hence improving their fine motor skills.
Buy toys for the kids
Toys are a favorite to children as they keep them busy and distracted most of the day. Buy as many toys as possible. These are toys such as puzzles, blocks to build castles, toy race cars, markers for coloring bubble wrap for popping, cotton balls, and letter magnets. When all their focus is on the games they are playing with the toys, you will get some time to do something else.
Napping
During the day, after all the playing and jumping from place to place, kids tend to get tired. Take advantage of this time and put them to sleep. This way, you will have some time to rest. You can have the kids sleep preferably 2-3 hours so you have sufficient time to attend to your other chores.
