Egg fertility of pigeon/bird/chickens depends upon many factors. Before checking egg fertility every breeder should ensure some important issues.

1. Food nutrition of pigeons

Healthy and nutrition food is very important for pigeon. Nutrient food brings healthy life and fertile egg. All the important grains should remain in their feed.
White Milo, Peas, Hard Red Wheat, Yellow Popcorn, Red Milo, Safflower Seed, Oat Groats, Pearled Barley, Lentils, White Proso Millet, Austrian Peas, Maple Peas, Brown Rice, Red Proso Millet, Green Peas, Flax, Rape Seed, Hemp etc.
2. Sufficient vitamin, mineral, calcium
Bird needed sufficient vitamins, mineral, calcium. For regular breeding of bird multivitamin, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, calcium, selenium, biotin, vitamin C must need in monthly chart.
If we maintain every month these medicine we will get fertile eggs from them and they will lead healthy life also.
Continuous breeding will not be disturbing maintaining vitamin, mineral, calcium. Not only medicine needed here, we have to feed them natural calcium, mineral and vitamins from pigeon grit which made of oyster, brick, limestone etc.
3. Perfect mating
Perfect mating the main factor all of this. Perfect mating means accurate sperm circulation between male pigeon to female pigeon. If there is miscommunication, egg will not be fertile. Sometimes pigeon back passage hair disturbs in sperm flow. In that case cut some back passage hair.
4. Rest period before taking eggs
Breeders are happy taking eggs from pigeon. But frequently egg taking within short time is very harmful for pigeon. When pigeon gives egg the lack of the calcium, vitamin, selenium, biotin increases. To full fill the lacking it needs some times. Then we can get fertile egg again. So long rest should be needed. Per month one pair egg is very good.
5. Egg shell or egg quality or size of eggs

Fertility also depends upon egg quality. When we ensure nutrient food, vitamin-mineral, calcium. Suppose mating also perfect and the eggs taken after giving a long rest period. Then quality of egg shell or size of eggs will be perfect. Normally fertile egg size also normal. Very small size eggs generally is not fertile. Normal egg shell thickness and abnormal egg shell thickness are different. Abnormal egg has a thin covering on the other hand normal egg shell covering is strong. To check fertility of egg is very simple.
Tools
Only one tool is needed. That is torch light. If you have no torch at home then use your mobile torch.
Process
When pigeon gives first egg, take the egg and place on safe zone. Don’t keep it in warm or cold place like oven, refrigerator. Wait for next egg laying day. Generally pigeon gives second egg on the third day. Place two eggs on the third day on hatching pot. Wait for 4/5 days after hatching. Take torch light and two eggs into dark place. Switch on torch into the egg.

If the egg looks like blood color vein spreading around the egg, then it is fertile egg.

If the egg looks like yellow color with no red vein, it is not fertile egg. Fertile egg takes 17 to 19 days for hatching out. If egg is not fertile then it is useless, just throw it into dustbin. Give the pigeon rest some days and maintain above mentioned egg fertility terms and pair up again & best of luck.
